It's finally dress shopping time. *Cue the salsa dancer emoji.*
Whether you're shopping for a prom, pageant, ball, cotillion, quinceanera, dance,
or any event in between, we can't wait to meet you!
Prom USA has been around since 1990, so it's safe to say we know
a thing or two about formal wear and finding the perfect dress.
Here are some tips to keep in mind when shopping for your special event:
Come with an open mind! While it's good to have an idea of the style or color you are looking for, we have THOUSANDS of prom dresses and pageant dresses to choose from, and we don't want you to miss out on THE dress because you weren't open to looking outside the box. We cannot count how many of our clients have told us, "I would have never have picked that gown, but I'm so glad you pulled it for me!" or "I never would have thought I liked that style or color, but THIS IS IT!" Trust your stylist, and we think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Limit your entourage. While we understand you wanting to bring all your BFFs, we are limited to space and seating (especially during peak season and hours) and we want all of our guests to be comfortable during their shopping experience.
Shop as early as you can to opening. If you do not have an appointment fitting rooms and stylists are first come, first served. Schedule your prom appointment here.
Remember that alterations are generally an option and usually needed. There are definitely exceptions to this, but you get the idea. While we do not offer alterations in-house, we know local seamstresses that we can refer you to. Ask your stylist if you have questions about the fit of the gown and they will do their best to address any questions/concerns. Keep in mind that they are not seamstresses themselves, so any complicated fitting/fabric questions should be discussed with a professional seamstress at your discretion.
Special ordering may be an option. If you find a dress in store or online that you love, but it's the wrong size/color, or you don't see it in the store, ask your stylist if the gown would be available to be special ordered in time for your event. If the gown is available to be ordered, you will be fitted at the time of purchase for your gown and a special order contract will be required. Remember that the gown will not be custom made to your measurements and you may still require alterations. Special orders (as with all purchases) are final sale - no returns, exchanges, refunds, or store credits.
No bold makeup, please. We too love a strong lip color and a good contour, but those bold colors often accidentally transfer onto the gowns when they are being tried on. We want to keep our gowns in the best condition possible so they're ready to go home with you when you decide it's "THE dress." You may be asked to remove any bold makeup prior to trying on our gowns if your stylist sees fit.
No food or drink is allowed in the store. Please leave it at home or in your car, because we don't want it to go to waste.
HAVE FUN. These are special days that you only get to experience a limited number of times in your life. Make the most of it.
